My Depth of Field

Wide Depth of Field
Aperture: f/7.8
Shutter Speed: 1/100
ISO: 64
Focal Length: 6.3 mm

I believe this picture was best for wide depth of field because the snow outside the window is in focus and the helicopter is also in focus. I like how you can see all the dust on the helicopter.

Medium Depth of Field
Aperture: f/7.8
Shutter Speed: 1/125
ISO: 100
Focal Length: 6.3 mm

I think this picture is best for medium depth of field because the helicopter is in focus but the background is not in focus, it's almost blurry. I like how the dirty window makes it look like it's snowing outside.

Narrow Depth of Field
Aperture: f/5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/200
ISO: 64
Focal Length: 18.9 mm

I think this picture is narrow depth of field because the tip of the helicopter is in focus and the propellers
are a little blurry. The snow is a little in focus but not enough for it to be wide depth of field. I like this picture because you can see the shine of the sun on the nose of the helicopter.

Lighting

Taking pictures at different times of day changes the lighting.

The lighting on each tree is a lot different. The first picture was taken at 8:00 A.M. The second picture was taken at noon. The last picture was taken at 4:00 P.M.

Replace A Sky

This picture I took because I liked the curve of the road and I thought the sky was cool. The asignment
was to replace the sky that was in the picture with a different one. I wish I would have had more time to take pictures
but I was sick. I didn't have a lot of time to edit it either.

I replaced the sky on this picture and I think it turned out better than the first. I like it but I wish the trees would have been a little bit less sharp. and the sky is fuzzy in a couple places but other than that I really like this picture.

Composition

These composition pictures were really hard for me to get. At the time I had gotten my wisdom teeth removed and wasn't feeling very good. The only time I got off the couch was to take these.

Rule of Thirds
I was following my dogs around the house and it's really hard for me to get a picture of Honey because
she moves so much. So this picture is really rare.
Shutter: 1/40
Aperture: f/3.8
Focal Length: 9.4 mm
ISO: 800

Diagional Lines
This is a picture of the bank that my mom had to go to. It was the tallest building I could find, so I did the best I
could at taking as many pictures as I could.
Shutter: 1/250
Aperture: f/3.1
Focal Length: 6.3 mm
ISO: 64

Curved Lines
I took this picture because I liked the way the plant curved. It was hard to isolate the trees though. So I did my best.
Shutter: 1/100
Aperture: f/3.1
Focal Length: 6.3 mm
ISO: 400

Leading Lines
I like this picture because you can see the reflection of the flag in the building and the sun is shining off the corner of
the building. I thought those things made this a really cool picture.
Shutter: 1/160
Aperture: f/7.8
Focal Length: 6.3 mm
ISO: 64
Horizontal Lines
I like this picture because this building has an unusual shaped roof and the contrast between the building and nature are cool.
Shutter: 1/320
Aperture: f/5.1
Focal Length: 15.7 mm
ISO: 64

Winter Nature

When I think of winter nature, I think of snow, animals, and anything growing and alive in the winter. The pictures I took are of things in nature that people can't control sometimes.

This is a tree root  that fell over and was slowly getting buried by snow. I like this picture because of how busy
it is. But it's also very calm. There's all sorts of twigs in the snow from the fallen tree.
Shutter Speed: 1/125
Aperture: f/4.6
Focal Length: 13.1 mm
ISO: 64

I took this picture because it's of trees that used to be planted each year
to be cut down for paper mills. But the trees have slowly started to grow out of that
normal routine.
Shutter Speed: 1/160
Aperture: f/ 5.6
Focal Length: 18.9 mm
ISO: 64

This is a picture of a tree root with a squirrel nest or a bird nest in it. I took this picture because you get an understanding of how hard it is to live in a small hole in the winter. There is also dog prints in this picture and
it makes me think of how hard it is for them to live so close to the ground and not get killed.

Shutter Speed: 1/80
Aperture: f/ 5.1
Focal Length: 15.7 mm
ISO: 64

This is a picture of a roll of fence behind the dog house. We put it there because the mice were digging
holes under the dog house. I like this picture because there's a contrast
between the hard, tough, metal wire and the soft, white, cold snow.

Shutter Speed: 1/60
Aperture: f/ 5.1
Focal Length: 15.7 mm
ISO: 64

This is a picture of a fallen tee. I love how it's suspended in the air by the other trees.
But all the leaves are dead and shriveled. It makes me think that the other trees didn't want that tree
to die and they are forever trying to bring it back to life.

Shutter Speed: 1/160
Aperture: f/ 3.1
Focal Length: 6.3 mm
ISO: 64

Open Theme

This picture is of the crawl space in our house. I thought it was unusual that there's a picture frame
on the ceiling. It's not normal and that's what I like about it.

Shutter Speed: 1/60
Aperture: f / 4.6
ISO: 64
Focal Length: 13.1 mm
This is my parents friends new dog, their last one got run over and I took this picture of Pup
to remember that some things don't last forever but pictures do.

Shutter Speed: 1/8
Aperture: f /3.1
ISO: 800
Focal Length: 6.3 mm
